Surprise + Delight.

Hello Friend,

This morning I caught a glimpse of a little rainbow in my shower, the way the light came through the spray of water and connected with the shower screen. Then, as in slow motion, I watched a little white feather dance it way down to the ground from a high tree branch at the school after I dropped my girls off at the gate. When home, I then picked some fresh cherry tomatoes from my garden for lunch and the warmth of the skin and the sweet taste was a delight for my senses.

Friend, I was going to write to you and say that these moments are rare in my day, but, upon reflection, I ponder that maybe these moments are always there and I am simply not open to seeing them. Often my days are so hectic and I wonder how I got from A to B, like in a haze - but then, sometimes there are moments (like today) when I am caught by the wonder and delight as I encounter something that makes me stop and take notice - something small like a ray of light, or a feather or a cherry tomato - and I give thanks to the One who loves me and who is with me as I walk each day.

I would love to invite you to simply be open to the seeing the gifts that are for you this day and give thanks.
