You Are Cared For, Too.

Dear Friend,

Over the weekend, I visited my parents’ church on the Central Coast - the same church I grew up in, and as I sat there, surrounded by so many familiar faces and memories, the pastor shared a reflection on Matthew 6:26:

“Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?”

It’s a verse I’ve heard countless times before, but on Sunday, it landed a little differently. Maybe it was the quiet of being back home, or maybe it’s just the season I’m in - juggling family, work, and all the small (and sometimes overwhelming) pieces of everyday life.

As I listened, I found myself picturing the birds outside my parents’ window. They’re not strategizing or storing or striving; they’re simply being, and somehow, their needs are met.

I felt a gentle whisper in that moment: You are cared for, too.

It’s such a simple truth, and yet one I so easily forget. The same God who tends to the birds - who feeds them, shelters them, watches over them - also tends to us. Even when we feel stretched thin or uncertain, God's provision often meets us in quiet, surprising ways: through a kind word, a shared meal, a door opening when we least expect it.

So this week, I’m trying to slow down and pay attention. To notice the small signs of care in my own life. To trust that I don’t have to hold everything together on my own. Maybe you need that reminder, too.

If you have a moment, step outside and watch the birds - really watch them. Let their unhurried rhythm remind you that you are deeply seen, valued, and provided for.

With love and gentleness,
